Many former members of Longton Riding Club have gone on to do great things such as Samantha Murray – London 2012 Olympics silver medallist in the Modern Pentathlon and Peter Murphy, an accredited British 3 Day Event Team Show Jumping Trainer, also competed at Longton and brought his two sons, Robert and Michael to the Riding Club as they were going up through the levels.

Longton benefits from having a tireless committee with a long serving Chairman, Mick Cookson who has been more than instrumental in the motivation of both the senior and junior membership.
