Longton Riding Club’s showing extravaganza is an annual spectacular event not to be missed by any showing enthusiast. It is held in May over two days offering the most fabulous of prizes and qualifiers.
On the Saturday we hold our annual BSPS show which is organised by Miss C Pearsall. This show holds all ridden classes from Show Ponies, M&M’s, Show Hunter Ponies, and Associate Horse classes to a full section of Working Hunter classes for the plaited ponies and the M&M’s too and much more besides! It is on this day that we hold our RIHS qualifier as well as qualifiers for the BSPS, P (UK), NCPA, Cherif and VHS. There is also and end of show supreme championship offering a spectacular cash prize to the champion and reserve. So whether your pony or horse is a novice or a more experienced open exhibit there is something for everyone.
The Sunday sees the commencement of our In-Hand Championship Show. The name says it all really! All Sunday is dedicated to in-hand showing classes offering trophies in every class, rosettes to 6th place, P (UK), NCPA, VHS, MHCGB and IMHPS qualifiers. We are very proud to announce that Longton Riding Club has been awarded the title of area qualifier for the MHCGB commencing at the 2011 show. With over 40 classes catering for show ponies, show hunters, M&M’s, cobs to Miniature Horses and so much more there really is a class for everyone including our trusted lorry dogs. Its not just serious competition, which takes place this day we also host a variety of novelty classes too!
Take a look at the pictures of years gone by to see what we have to offer for member and none members.
