 RING 1
SHOW JUMPING

 Commencing 9.30 a.m. 

 Class 1    PRACTICE JUMPING
Horse or Pony any height, rider any age.  May be  on lead rein (this class only)
 Fences will not exceed  55cms (1’9”)   finishes 10.15a.m.

 Class 2    BEGINNERS JUMPING
To be ridden by a Junior member age not to exceed 12 on 1/1/10  Pony not to exceed 138cms.   Competitors
in this class are  not eligible to compete in any other Show Jumping Class  on the same day.   The class will
consist of one round.  Any member with three clear rounds at the end of the season will be
eligible for the  Beginners Pony Championship  at the last points show  competing for 
The Storm & Blackie Trophy which will be presented at the Presentation Dance
.  The overall 
winner at the end of the season would  not be  eligible for this class in future seasons 
Max height 2’0”

Class 3      PRACTICE JUMPING 
Horse or Pony any height, rider any age.    Fences -   Max height 700cms ( 2’3”) . The last two fences    

will be at 85cms ( 2’9”) to be jumped by 148cms ponies and horses.  No entries taken after 10.30 a.m.  any competitor 
who has not presented for jumping before 11.45 p.m. will be eliminated. The class will close at 12.00

Class 4  (Not before 1 .00 p.m.)  75cms JUMPING  PONIES
Ponies not exceeding 148cms, rider must be Junior.  Max height first round   75cms

 Class 5      90cms JUMPING PONIES
Riders any age, ponies not exce
eding   148cms.   Fences not to exceed 90cm in the first round
 

Class 6     75cms JUMPING  HORSES
Max. height first round 75cms  HORSES ONLY  Rider may be Junior or Senior 

Class7  HORSE/PONY RELAY
Rider any age a senior cannot compete on a pony under 143cms.  Teams of two must contain a horse

and a pony
   Fences not to exceed 75cms

 Class 8   ACCUMULATOR with JOKER
 Rider any age a senior cannot compete on a pony under 143cms.  Score is accumulated with
each fence jumped clear.  The joker fence is optional after the round has been completed
and the rider has gone through the timing.
 

Class 9      90cms JUMPING HORSES
Max height first round 90cms.  HORSES ONLY – rider may be Junior or Senior. 

Class 10  OPEN JUMPING
 Rider any age.  Ponies must exceed 132cms  A senior may not compete on ponies under  143cms
Max height first round .1.05m   

Rules in accordance with the current  BSJA Rule Book.  Except that:

Numbers must be worn in all classes
Age limits are as stated in the schedule
Three refusals constitutes elimination as per Riding Club rules.
Market harbourers, running, check, draw and side reins are forbidden
Hackamores, bitless bridles, blinkers and hoods are forbidden
Jackets and light coloured jodhpurs/breeches must be worn

In 2010 we are affiliating the Show Jumping classes to the North West Show Jumping
Championships
which  take place on Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th August 2010 at the
Bridgewater Riding Club Showground,   Brookhouse Equestrian Centre in Cheshire.

RIDDEN SHOWING

This class is to find the most suitable & well mannered Lead Rein Pony.

All competing receive rosette        Snaffle Bridle only

 

Class 22  FIRST RIDDEN PONY

Open to  Show Ponies, Show Hunter Ponies & M&M Ponies. Riders 10 years and under on 1/1/10

 This class is to find the most suitable & well mannered  First Ridden Pony.

Class 23    143cms & 153cms SHOW HUNTER PONY

Ponies exceeding 13h.h/133cms not exceeding 15h.h/153cms, riders any age but suitable for size
of  mount, Horses in this class not eligible to compete in Class 18.

 Class 24   128cms SHOW PONY
Ponies not  exceeding 12.2h.h./128cms,  riders not to have attained their 13th birthday before 1/1/10

 Class 25    138cms & 148cms SHOW  PONY
Ponies not  exceeding 14.2h.h./148cms,  riders not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1/1/10

Class 26    123cms & 133cms SHOW HUNTER PONY

 Ponies not  exceeding 13h.h./133cms,  riders not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1/1/10

 

Please make sure that your entry is correct before handing it in.    If you change the
name of a horse mid-season it will be classed as two different horses so try and be
consistent.

Dress & Tack in accordance with BSPS Rules    

Classes 23 – 26 may be judged in another ring to help with the smooth running of the show.

The decision will be made on the day of the show at approx 12.00p.m
an announcement will be made in advance over the tannoy.

RING 3
WORKING HUNTER
   

Commencing 9.00 a.m.

 Class 27     PRACTICE WORKING HUNTER
Horse or Pony any height, rider any age.  Fences will not exceed  55cms (1’9.  The last two fences
(optional) will be 2’    No entries taken after 9.45a.m.  any competitor  who has not presented
for jumping before 10.15 p.m. will be eliminated. The class will close at 10.30  
 Entry Fee  Members £3.00 non Members £6.00

 Class 28   JUNIOR NOVICE WORKING HUNTER  14h.h/143cms & under
To be ridden by a Junior - Pony not to exc. 143cms.  Nominal height 2’3”   Max height 2’6”.

Class 29    JUNIOR NOVICE WORKING HUNTER exceeding 14h.h/143cms
To be ridden by a Junior - Pony must exc, 143cms.  Nominal height 2’6”     Max height 2’9”.

 Class 30    SENIOR NOVICE WORKING HUNTER
To be ridden by a Senior - Horse must exc. 143cms. Nominal height 2’9”  Max height 3’0”.

Class 31    BEGINNERS WORKING HUNTER PONY 
 To be ridden by a Junior member age not to exceed 12 on 1/1/10 Pony not to exceed 148cms  
No spurs.   Competitors not eligible to compete in any other WH Class on the same day.  The overall points winner
at the end of the season would  not be eligible for this class in future season
Max height 2’0” 

Class 32   SENIOR BEGINNERS WORKING HUNTER 
To be ridden by a Senior Member Horse/Pony 143cms(14hh) & over    No spurs 
Competitors not eligible to compete in any other WH Class on the same day. 
The overall points winner at the end of the season would not be eligible for this class in future seasons.

Class  33     M & M   WORKING HUNTER  (1)
Native Breeds only.  To be shown in natural state.               Nominal height     2' 6"       

    Class  34     INTERMEDIATE   WORKING HUNTER 
To be ridden by a Junior or Senior. Open to Horses & Ponies .  Nominal height 2’6”  Max height 3’3”.

 Class  35     OPEN WORKING HUNTER 
To be ridden by a Junior or Senior. Open to Horses & Ponies .  Nominal height 3’0”  Max height 3’9”.

 

Competitors in Class 31 & 32  may not compete in any Novice, Intermediate or Open W. H.  
Class on the same day.

 NB  spurs allowed for Open Working Hunter

The rules for these Classes will be based on the current BSPS rule book
Maximum height for fences to be achieved at the end of the season.

Competitors in Classes     28, 29, 30,  34 & 35 are eligible for the  WH Championship

The Billington Trophy at the end of the season

Competitors in Class   16, 17,  33,  48, 49 & 50 are eligible for the M & M  Championship The Chadwick Trophy at the end of the  season

In 2010 we are affiliating the Working Hunter  classes to the North West Working Hunter  Championships which  take place on Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th August 2010 at the Bridgewater Riding Club Showground,   Brookhouse Equestrian Centre in Cheshire.

NB:  A competitor can only show one animal in each class.  If an owner is showing  more

Qualifying Conditions

 

North West Show Jumping & Working Hunter  Championships

The 2010 North West Show Jumping & Working Hunter Championships take place on Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th August.

First placed horses and ponies in our showjumping classes qualify  for the above championships and
 will receive a qualification card which they must complete and return to Brookhead Equestrian Centre

 

International Showing Society Royal London Show

Longton Riding Club is affiliated to the International Showing Society for the 16th May, 20th
June and the 15th August 2010 and is a qualifier for the Royal London Show 2010.

 

First, second and third placed horses/ponies in the appropriate class will qualify for the
Champion of Britain Title classes to be held at the Royal London Show in 2010. Each
qualified horse/pony will receive a qualification card in the ring, which will enable the
owner to enter the Royal London Show, provided the owner, and rider/handler are, or
become registered with the International Showing Society within 28 days of the qualifying
show. No horse registration is required. For up to date information telephone the

Longton Riding Club is affiliated to the UK Showing Premier Riding Club
Championship taking place on the Sat 10th and Sunday 11th July 2010.

Equifest  2010

Longton Riding Club is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on the 19th – 22nd August 2010.

The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify in classes 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25,26, 28, 29, 33, 49, 50 and 52. Please refer to conditions of entry for these qualifying classes.

their 9th birthday before 1stJanuary in the current year. To be led by an attendant
 and shown in a Snaffle Bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

  Leading Rein Show Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over not exceeding
122cms. Riders not to have attained their 8th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
To  be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead rein to be attached to the noseband  only.

 Class 22   FIRST RIDDEN PONIES
Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Bred
Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland, and Welsh A or B. Mare or
gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms.  Riders not to have attained
 their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
 To be shown in any suitable bridle.

First Ridden Show Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding
 122cm. Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
To be shown in any suitable bridle.

 Class 23  Show Hunter Pony
mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 153cms. Riders not to have 
attained their 20th birthday before the 1st January in the current year to qualify.

Class 24  Open Show Pony
 mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms.  Riders not to have
attained their 13th birthday before the 1st January in the current year.

   Class 25  Open Show Pony
mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 148cms. Riders not to have attained
their 17th birthday  before the 1st January in the current year.

Class 26  Show Hunter Pony
mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 122cms but not exceeding 133cms. Riders
not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year to qualify.

Classes 28 & 29   Working Hunter Ponies
mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 153cms to qualify. Riders must be the
 correct age for the animal they ride.

Class 33  Mountain and Moorland Working Hunter pony
 to be registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dartmoor, Dales,
Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland or Welsh A, B, C or D. Stallion, mare or
 gelding, 4 years old and over. Riders any age.  

 Class 49  Open to In Hand Mountain & Moorland ponies
registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Welsh A, B, C and D. Stallion,
mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.

 Class 50  Open to In Hand Mountain & Moorland ponies
registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell,
Highlands, New Forest, and Shetland. Stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.

 Class 52   In hand Riding Ponies  
  stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding. Any age, not to exceed 153cms at maturity.
